Neither Clinton nor Obama claim clear lead
Yet he never has managed anything, not even a State, or a city, or a company, or a school, not even one small kindergarten. If running a country is so easy and simple, and it only takes in-born talent, eloquent oratory and a good law degree, then the White House would be over-crowded long ago. A movie critic, even a good one, not necessarily can produce good movies, A top book reviewer cannot surely write best-selling books. Top food critics can hardly be top chefs either. A leading US senator might and/or might not turn out to be good material for President either. Simple as that. US is now at a very crucial period as never before. National standing, world image, financial turmoil, energy threats, terrorists, military adventures overseas, gigantic burden of health-care, housing bubble, mounting cost of debts on all levels, just naming a few, all require a very insightful, outstanding leader with clear vision and skillful, steady, able hands to lead the country to sail through the storms coming from all directions.
McCain's Cheap Dates?
I don't want my 17-year-old son to have to pick tomatoes or make beds in Las Vegas." Has Rove accidentally ripped the mask off the vicious social inegalitarianism of Bush's immigration plan, as Mark Krikorian argues, or does a more benign interpretation of his comments save him? It's not like he hasn't said this sort of thing before, apparently. Indeed, his June, 2006 version makes the probable context of last week's remark quite clear--and Rove's not simply "saying that every parent wants their child to have a high-skilled, high-wage job," as the White House's damage control suggests. Here's the 2006 pitch: "Now frankly," Rove said during a riff on the temporary worker part of President Bush's immigration reform plan, "I don't want my kid digging ditches. I don't want my kid slinging tar.
PC World: Some things weren't in the air at Expo
For everything that was “in the air" at Macworld Expo, there were pre-show rumors that didn't pan out, products that didn't receive enough attention, and announcements ripe for second-guessing. Here's a recap of what didn't show its face at Expo, what happened instead, and whether any of it will make a difference in the long run. Not In the Air: Jay-Z ? Hoax! Despite the pre-Macworld rumors that rapper Jay-Z would be tapped to spearhead an Apple music label, nothing of the sort happened. Randy Newman was the only musician to perform live at the keynote, and he's pretty much the opposite of Jay-Z. One reason for Jay-Z's absence may have been a last-minute beef with Steve Jobs over Jay-Z's cameo appearance in Bill Gates's CES farewell video. But that reason's completely made up… just like the whole “Jay-Z left Def Jam for Apple" rumor.
For what it's worth
Just like the stock market, house values can be an up-and-down affair. But the market value of homes in Altoona is not as volatile as in bigger cities such as Pittsburgh, Baltimore and New York City, according to area home appraisers and real estate agents. “Most people in this area know that there's basically a gradual, 5 percent increase per year," said Richard Johnston, owner/broker at Howard Hanna Johnston Realty, Altoona. “In the bigger markets, home values are going up 15 (percent) to 20 percent every year. But like the stock market, it has to correct itself eventually." Bigger populations and more jobs account for the dramatic increases in bigger cities, Johnston said. Home appraisals are a key component of the home buying and selling process, Johnston said. A residential appraisal is a security tool used by lenders to establish the market value of a home's property.

He said it had happened so suddenly that the state government had not been able to make alternative arrangements Every year, NABARD provides about Rs 400 crore to Rs 600 crore to Punjab for agricultural loan purposes. Earlier, NABARD had never denied funds to Punjab. In fact, it used to give preference to the state because the recovery of loans advanced in the cooperative sector has been far better as compared to that in many other states. .
Struggling homeowners give CBA record profit
Asked if CBA could again lift rates outside RBA rate moves, chief executive Ralph Norris said: "I can't promise anything in that regard. It depends on what happens in the markets. "If our costs go up exponentially, then we're obviously going to have to recover those costs,'' he told journalists. Financial markets are factoring in another 25 basis point rise in the official cash rate to 7.25 per cent. Record profit, but below expectationsCBA's net profit for the six months ended December 31 rose to $2.37 billion, up 8 per cent from $2.19 billion in the same period last year.
