| Fog Devils sold, move planned to Quebec
The St. John's Fog Devils hockey team has been sold to a new Quebec-based owner, leaving a city-owned stadium without an anchor tenant. The Fog Devils, who play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, were founded in 2005 after the Toronto Maple Leafs pulled their farm team from St. John's that year. Mile One has relied on the St. John's Fog Devils as a key tenant for the last three seasons. (CBC) Owner Derm Dobbin has had troubles with management of the Mile One stadium over rental costs, and team president Brad Dobbin said earlier this season that low spectator turnout was making operating the team difficult. Matthew Ryder, the team's media relations officer, said hockey fans would not likely see a replacement soon for the Fog Devils. "In my opinion, St.
Make NRA pay when someone kills with gun
But I worry that the hospitals can stop taking care of Medicare patients who get sick, have heart attacks, etc.Now for gun control:What about fining the National Rifle Association each time an innocent person gets injured or, worse, killed by these people who snap?Fine the manufacturers who produce guns, shells and gun powder until tougher gun laws are passed. The NRA lobbies each year to stop gun control laws from being passed. You have to go through tougher background checks to become a foster parent, school teacher, bus driver, etc., than to get a Firearms Owner Identification card.People have the right to bear arms, according to our Constitution, but I don't believe forefathers meant the right to bear arms and kill someone's child.Do the lobbyists and NRA have a conscience to pass gun laws that make sense? How can they sleep at night knowing every few seconds someone loses their life or the life of a child, student, husband, wife or mother.Pass a law that makes sense.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil' Wayne's Detox? C-Murder & The Game's Mom? Mariah ...
My homey Johnny told me that C-Murder has signed The Game's mother to a deal. She soon is telling her life story in the form a book…and maybe a CD as rapper. “Life's Not A Fair Game" is supposedly the name of the book. I'm sure you all know, but Game's mother is a well respected OG in the Compton hood – I heard. NELLY'S TOTAL RULE OVER OTHER PEOPLE? Nelly is supposedly restarting the T.R.O.O.P. clothing line. What's funny about that is TROOP been “back" but they didn't get any burn. They used to say TROOP was owned by the KKK and mean Total Rule Over Other People. He needs to bring back VoKal (that site ain't been updated in 3 full years)! LIL' WAYNE WRITING ON DETOX? There is a lil' rumor going around that Lil' Wayne might be lending his writing or non writing talents to Dr.
Jail bird: Ferocious goose terrorizes north Chico street
Unknown to her at the time, neighbor Nancy Kelly had already called Chico police for help. Tambe said the bird would alternately lunge at the screen door, and chase any neighbors who came near her home. When a neighbor distracted the bird, and was then chased by it, Tambe said she was able to get the garage door closed. She said police showed up and initially tried to corner the goose in her yard, herding it with a broom. "The goose didn't quite go in the direction we wanted," she said. Eventually, Sgt. Linda McKinnon grabbed the bird .

A mentally disabled woman who had been missing for two days has been found in pretty good shape in Novato. Her relieved family says she is being treated at Novato Community hospital but should be fine. Teresa Valencia's nieces tell us they were particularly worried because their 28-year-old aunt functions as a 4-year-old. She speaks little English and broken Spanish. Police say a tip from a caller who thought they'd seen the woman described in news reports helped direct searchers. A bloodhound then found Teresa Valencia's scent in about 10 minutes. She was on a hillside about 2-and-a-half miles from the home she's been living in while visiting from Mexico. Fantasy Politics Posted by Mike Luery at 10 a.m. .
Storied Pagan-Lewis sold to Sames Crow
From one family to another; that's how the owners of Pagan-Lewis Motors Inc., one of Corpus Christi's oldest car dealerships, described the sale of their dealership to Sames Crow. "Our families were the car dealership owners of the '60s, '70s and '80s, and now as their children we are still in the business and share that common bond," said Sames-Crow co-owner Bob Crow on Wednesday. Pagan-Lewis, at 3737 S. Padre Island Drive, sells Lincoln-Mercury, Chrysler-Jeep and Subaru vehicles, and includes the local Budget Rental Car franchise. The dealership will remain open, although under the Sames Crow name, and its 50 employees also will transfer to Sames Crow. A sale price was not disclosed. Sames Crow is owned by Hank Sames of Laredo and Bob Crow of Corpus Christi. Hank Sames is the owner of Sames Auto Group, which sells Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Mazda, and Honda in Laredo.
Sales jump 60 per cent as gas prices shoot up, gap in prices narrows ...
Hybrid auto sales jumped last year in Canada and analysts say they should soar again in 2008. Statistics from the automakers show sales of hybrid cars and trucks rose more than 60 per cent to 13,971 last year from 2006. Analysts said yesterday that although hybrids still represent less than 1 per cent of total auto sales, the numbers will shoot up this year because of increasing model selection and rising fuel prices, which will make them more attractive economically. "Hybrid sales will continue to increase strongly," said Chris Travell, vice-president at Maritz Automotive Research. Environmental reasons spurred initial hybrid sales of less than a 1,000 a year in 2004, but fuel economy is becoming a big reason for their increasing popularity as gasoline prices climb above a $1 a litre with no sign of slowing down.

Arizona's film industry shows signs of growth
A new TV show will be using the streets of downtown Phoenix as a stand-in for Los Angeles over the next few weeks, but it wasn't the architecture or the weather that drew it here. The show's producers came for Arizona's entertainment-industry tax incentives, and they're not the only people looking east from Hollywood toward Arizona. TV and film productions spent an estimated $208 million in Arizona in 2007, and 2008 may be an even bigger year. .
